I am 34 years old and I was born in Colombia. I have been living in the states for almost 17 years. I speak fluent English and Spanish, as well. I took ESL classes for about year. I also attended business school in Colombia. I have had various child care jobs for a total of 10 years of experience. One of my experiences as a nanny was taking care a newborn in Manhattan. I worked with her for 3 years. Some of my duties here include bathing, preparing lunch, and housekeeping for the baby. I also took her out to do various activities such as gym classes, museums, parks, play-dates, etc. Another part of my experience is my present job. I started when the baby was 2 months old and now he is almost three years. It is a full-time job position. I have been with a family for two and a half years and I am looking for another family because the baby will start full-time school soon. I absolutely love kids, and I enjoy everyday my work as a nanny.

Nicole (Nicky) cared for our newborn twins and, in the beginning, was warm, capable, and clearly experienced with infants. Unfortunately, we ultimately had a challenging experience around reliability, communication, and professionalism. She left unexpectedly (not even a 24 hour notice) due to a personal emergency and did not provide clear or timely communication regarding her return or availability. We went nearly a full week without an update and had to urgently secure alternative care for our newborn babies. The way the role ended felt unprofessional, particularly given the lack of communication during a critical time. For working parents who rely on consistent, dependable childcare, this is something to carefully consider and discuss upfront. We do wish her the best.
