I have 6 years of volunteer based experience working with children and young adults with special needs, usually in a school setting. I also have experience working one on one with campers with special needs as an inclusion aid at a summer camp, and as a partner on Special Olympics sports teams. I have been responsible for helping kids with academic skills such as reading, writing, and math, as well as motor, social, and speech skills. I have worked with children on the Autism Spectrum, children with Downs Syndrome, Nonverbal children, and others. Although I am 18 and a recent high school graduate, I have accumulated a lot of experience and I am hardworking and eager to learn and adapt to new situations and challenges. I know some sign language, and I am bilingual (English and Spanish). I am going into college next year, with hopes of pursuing a career in ABA Therapy or Special Education. This is work I am deeply invested in and hope to turn into a lifelong career!
