I recently moved back to Portland from New Zealand where I worked as an early childhood teacher and nanny for a toddler. At the school in New Zealand we spent most of the day outside as there was a big emphasis on outdoor play with the children. Before working in New Zealand I worked as an Au pair for a family in Australia. The children were 5 and 9 and loved to do activities at the beach or build "cubby houses" out of sticks they found in nature. My first Au Pair position was in the French Alps with two pre-school aged children. I lived and worked there for close to a year and a half, hence the reason I can speak fluent French. While I was there I volunteered at the local school helping with ski lessons, swimming lessons and class hikes during the summer. I am hoping to work as a teacher starting in September but I am available for the summer for full time or part-time work.
