I like working with animals because it comes naturally. I give them space first & read their body language. I got my first toy poodle, Rosie, when I was 8 & learned about her grooming needs. Along the way, my family got 4 more dogs: a 2nd toy poodle, a German shepherd, a mini dachshund, & a husky that my mom found tied to a tree. Rosie is now 17 years old & is blind + deaf. I'm not certified in pet CPR but I know how to check a dog's pulse. My weenie Iris choked on a treat once as a puppy & I did the heimlich maneuver on her & safely removed it. I took training classes with Iris & Coco so I have some experience training small dogs. I had a roommate for 2 yrs and helped raise a kitten so I am comfortable pet sitting for cats. I worked as a nurse aide for 3 yrs. During my career, I worked in a unit that had patients with neurological issues or dementia and most were incontinent. I also worked in PACU, where patients recovered from anesthesia after a surgery.
