When I was living up in Sonoma County, I worked in becoming independent where I was both an instructor and at times outsourced as a caretaker to work directly with clients at their homes. I taught social etiquette and life skills to people with both physical and mental disabilities, established diet and exercise plans for clients to ensure their well-being, lifted wheelchair bound clients on a regular basis, documented clients behavior through Excel spreadsheets, and wrote up annual reports that paid close attention to any changes in health, mood, or physical appearance. Prior to that, I had experience working in group homes where I cooked meals for residents three times a day, assisted in bathing clients and helped them maintain their personal hygiene, responsible for giving residents their medication as well as providing transportation to doctor appointments.
