To Whom it May Concern: Mr. Neil R worked for my family full time from June of 2014 until my father passed away on March 7th, 2016. This letter of reference is to let you know that Neil is by far the best caretaker I have ever had the good fortune to meet and hire, in so many ways. From the moment Neil started working for us, we felt like he was part of our family. Neil was professional, took excellent care of my father, and went beyond the call of duty to make sure my father was comfortable. I cannot recommend Neil strongly enough. I feel that anything I write is not doing enough justice to what Neil meant to our family. We had peace of mind when Neil joined us. We knew he took care of our father as if he was his own family. Neil figured out how to make him smile, and anticipated his every need even before we did. My father had Parkinson’s and spent most of his day in a wheelchair. Neil made sure that my father would walk every day, and if ever there was a health problem, Neil would be the first to notice and take appropriate action. A few anecdotes: As my father’s illness progressed he was in pain a lot of the time. Neil figured out how to make him smile, even laugh, by finding Danish songs on his iPad and playing them for my father, who is Danish. Neil figured out different positions for my father, using pillows and other props, to ease his discomfort. Also noteworthy is that although Neil was hired to care for my father, he helped my mother consistently, with housework, cooking, cleaning, driving, and household repairs. He often stayed late to help my mother with whatever she needed. In the weeks before my father’s passing, he was hospitalized in Miami beach, and any time I went to visit, Neil was standing by his bedside, holding his hand. Day and night, Neil did not take a break, but tried to make my father as comfortable as possible. The doctors and nurses there all commented to me how lucky we were to have such an amazing aide. We knew that, but it was also obvious to anyone who saw them together. This treatment was consistent: Neil was loyal, and treated my father as his own, from the first day we met him. There is so much more to say about the quality of Neil’s personality. His honesty, his kindness, his loyalty, the love and pride he brought to the job, cannot be matched. At my father’s funeral and in the week’s following, I received many calls asking for Neil’s contact information, because it was obvious to anyone who met him that Neil was a superior, top-class, one-of-a-kind caregiver. Our family friend who ended up hiring Neil was also thrilled to have him, and could not stop thanking us. Up to this day after my father passed I still am in touch with Neil and consider him to be part of my family and we always love to hear from him . If you have any questions or would like further information please do not hesitate to call; I would be very pleased to continue telling stories about how fortunate anyone who hires Neil will be. Sincerely, Debbie
