About Nawanda

I have 8 years experience working in the early childhood field, all in certified childcare centers. I have experience with ages 6 weeks through to 3 years. I love working with families and being a part of their village! I love being able to care for infants, and watch them grow into their personalities as independent toddlers. I prefer to use a child-led approach, where I follow their schedule and cues, as well as their interests in what they like to do. I have experience in a RIE and Reggio Emilia setting. My favorite part of working with infants/toddlers is watching them learn how to exist. I especially have a soft spot for language development. I use a combination of speaking and some basic ASL to teach different ways of communicating. I live in a house with both dogs and cats, and am comfortable with any pets! In my personal life, I enjoy reading and crafting. I'm new to the area, and also look forward to exploring!
