About Nathan

I'd describe myself as friendly, kind, and fun. I like tutoring because it provides opportunity to build familiarity with challenging subjects. I have a masters in special education and have more than 15 years of experience in a variety of educational settings including outdoor education, public education, tutoring and homeschool education. I started tutoring when I was in college where I supported students with reading intervention. In my spare time, I like to garden, read, draw, ride bikes, and spend time with my family. One thing you should know about me is I value the extraordinary power of the ordinary day to day moments that caregivers share with children. I look for ways to build connection, foster reciprocity, encourage inclusion, and identify opportunities to grow through scaffolding and fading. My strongest skills include math and science, social studies, reading and writing, along with interventions in math and reading.
