About Nathan

Passionate K-12 math educator with 5 years of tutoring experience and B. S. in Data Science. I love showing students see the beauty in math while helping them improve their grades and reduce school-related stress. I've tutored students of all grade levels informally since high school, and I've tutored professionally for 2 years. Students who work with me typically see quick grade improvements and often learn to appreciate math, even in small ways. Three words I'd use to describe myself are patient, introverted, and thoughtful. My tutoring style is very listening-focused, and I take time to learn how my students are already thinking before I show them anything new. I'm especially patient with students who are soft-spoken or aren't sure how to describe what they are struggling with. I believe that communication and asking questions is one of the most helpful skills I can teach, in addition to their schoolwork!
