About Nancy

My name is Nancy . I have been teaching and or tutoring for 30+ years. I am certified to teach special education and elementary education in the state of NC. I currently work as a Special Education Resource Teacher in the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School system. I specialize in teaching children with learning disabilities in reading, writing, and in math. I have extensive experience also working with students diagnosed with ADHD and autism. I have had training and experience in a variety of research based reading programs specifically designed for students with dyslexia including Orton Gillingham based programs such as HillRap and Preventing Academic Failure. I have also had training and experience implementing several state and district level programs in reading and math. I thoroughly enjoy what I do and have had success helping students become skilled and confident learners. I tutor out of my home located in Winston Salem and am often accompanied by my labradoodle Rusty.
