I have 13 years of hands- on experience helping my special needs son who used a wheelchair, feeding tube, and tracheostomy. I also have two years of experience assisting an ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) patient with basic daily living activities and diabetes medication management, including administering insulin injections. In addition, I have been assisting an elderly gentleman with tasks such as transportation to and from doctor's appointments, running errands, and light household tasks. I have an associates degree in General Studies and am currently working towards earning a CNA certification from Tidewater Community College. Although I don't hold a current CPR certification, I have been CPR trained in the past and plan to renew my certification in the near future.
