I am college educated, have ABA training, CPR and First Aid Certified. My experience includes working with children who have autism (including Asperger's), bipolar disorder, ADHD, PDD, diabetes, difficulty with mobility and seizure disorders. I was employed at a hospital for seven years in Boston while working in the nutrition department and have worked with many children and young adults with disabilities requiring assistance in different areas. My experiences with individuals with special needs has taught me they need to be nurtured and surrounded with love, acceptance, repetition, given structure, empathy, a voice, treated with patience and understanding, while learning life skills to build self-worth and a sense that there is a place in this world for everyone.
