I am 30 years old and I teach high school chemistry in Duval County. Previously, I worked as an elementary school secretary and paraeducator for four years. I also worked as a youth counselor at an after-school program. Recently I have been babysitting on an as-needed basis, but I have experience in childcare for all ages. I am loving, patient, and outgoing, and I love coming up with activities that children will find entertaining. I can help with homework, and I have a clean driving record, so transportation or errands would not be a problem. I love working with children because every day is different; I get to take part in a child's learning and growth as a person, and their youthful energy keeps me vibrant, too! I recommend Nana as a family's nanny with the highest regard and enthusiasm, as that is exactly the role that Nana fulfilled beautifully for my family in Iowa City, Iowa during the pandemic year 2020-2021. My wife Katie and I have two young children --- M., a boy, now two years old, and E., a girl, now 11 months old as I write this recommendation in July 2021. We interviewed many applicants for an at-home nanny during the pandemic but were never completely comfortable with any of the applicants except Nana. Since Nana worked full time as secretary and para-educator for an Elementary in Iowa City, we settled for Saturday & Sunday weekend visitation from Nana during the school year --- three hours each day, for six hours each weekend. During Summer 2021, Nana is a full time camp counselor for children on weekdays, so we have kept the same weekend schedule for Nana's visitation with our children. M. and E. light up each time Nana arrives!
