About Nana

I am a RN 24 years currently completing PhD. and recently retired (17 years) with The Dept. of Veterans Affairs. I am working PT for flexibility as I complete my PhD and balance home/family. I'd describe my personality as kind, conscientious and caring. I like caring for seniors because of their life experience; there is always something to learn spending time with them. My mother has Parkinson's and daughter has autism so I understand the demands of caregivers. I started working with seniors as a RN in 2002, a graduate of Charity School of Nursing in N. O. and through my career at the VA, a special appreciation of senior Veterans and their caregivers. My skills include listening to honor preferences allowing choices when possible/safe which is incredibly valuable to seniors. I am patient, which is an important aspect of caring for anyone. I am committed to maintaining dignity/respect. These are the most important skills above any technical skills.
