About Myra

I am a 70-year-old widow who grew up and lived on a family farm in central NC. I was married 45 years to a farmer. We raised 2 children and 2 granddaughters on the farm. I moved to the coast after my husband died 3 years ago to live my dream as a beach resident. I graduated from MC in 1977 with a degree in Home Economics and certification in Early Childhood Education. I taught elementary school for 15 years before going into nursing. I graduated as a registered nurse in 1994. I have worked in hospital settings, correctional facilities, and long term care centers. I have extensive experience with geriatric patients and have worked in a dementia / psych unit. My last job was a nurse surveyor who inspected nursing homes to ensure compliance with federal guidelines.

Myra, has been an angel for our family! Our mother has Dementia, (FTD - Behavorial Variant) and she has been wonderful to work with. Myra is an RN, and has tons of experience. She is great with communication. She is honest, trustworthy, and dependable. She is down to earth, and has great a great personality that meets the person where they are. When the world seemed crazy - we leaned on Myra to be the stable rock, and be our eyes and ears from afar. I can’t say enough positive things about her and would be happy to be a point of reference. She has been a breath of fresh air for our family, and any family that is lucky enough to hire her would no doubt feel the same way. Thank you Myra, for being the friend, companion, and caregiver that Mom has needed at this stage in her life.
