About Mya

I'm passionate about meeting kids where they are-physically, emotionally, and developmentally. Whether it's crouching down to their level or adjusting my approach to match their needs, I believe in communicating effectively and creating a positive connection. I've had the privilege of working with a wide range of ages and abilities, both as a YMCA summer camp counselor with large groups and through personal referrals, offering individualized care and supervision. I am especially passionate about nature-based play and enjoy helping kids explore and learn through outdoor activities. With a recent Master's in Landscape Systems and Design, and a B. S. in Brain & Behavioral Sciences from Purdue University, I bring a unique perspective to understanding how environments impact children's development. I strive to create nurturing, fun, and safe experiences that allow each child to grow and thrive in a supportive setting.
