Experience: 6 yrs
For the past 6 years, have worked in senior care, developing skills in personal care, companionship, and overall well-being support. From assisting with daily living activities to offering emotional support, I've learned that patience, empathy, and attention to detail are the key ingredients to providing the best care. One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is building trust with residents and their families. I understand that the elderly population requires not only physical care but also emotional and psychological support, and I take pride in providing both. Whether it's offering a listening ear or helping someone with mobility, I am committed to improving the quality of life for the seniors I work with. I stay updated on new techniques and best practices in areas such as dementia care, medication management, and mobility assistance, ensuring that I can offer the best possible support.
At a time when my family needed dependable support the most, Monique did not show up, did not call, and did not respond to our attempts to reach her. Monique had been hired to assist with caring for my grandmother so that our family could have some much-needed respite. It just so happened that her scheduled first day was the night after my grandmother’s daughter’s funeral, making dependable care that evening especially important to our family. When Monique did not arrive as scheduled, we called her several times. The calls went directly to voicemail, as though the phone was on Do Not Disturb. We left two voicemail messages and received no return call, text, or explanation for her absence. Unfortunately, being left without the care we had arranged added unnecessary stress during an already difficult and emotional time for our family. Reliability and communication are critical when a family is entrusting someone with the care of a vulnerable loved one. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Monique for families who need dependable, consistent, and responsive caregiving.
