About Monica

I was born in England, moved to South Africa when I was 3, came back to England when I was 5. Settled in a small village in Lancashire, where the majority of my schooling happened. I went to primary school and high school there, and attended the local college too. I moved south, to London, in 1983 and took a job as a nanny. I loved the job, and during this time I was exposed to Montessori education. I continued to work as a nanny whilst also attending the St Nicholas Montessori Teaching Training Centre in London. After graduating, and doing my internship, I made the decision to leave the UK and move to Boston USA. I nannied in Boston and also worked p/t in a cooperative nursery school. In 1996 my husband and I moved to Boise, Idaho. Our first 5 years in Boise I was the lead teacher in Rose Hill Montessori school's Primary classroom. In 2000 I opened my own school in Boise - Five Mile Montessori. After 21 years in business, I sold the school and moved to Tucson, AZ.
