About Monica

I graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor's in Psychology. I am currently seeking my Master's in Social Work at EMU. During my time in college, I worked at the university's preschool for 4 years by aiding children, ages 18 months to 4 years of age. I worked part-time at Lifetime fitness child center which I supervised and cared for children, ages 3 months to 12 years old. I have also worked at a Center residential for 11 months with at risk teen girls ranging from ages 12 to 17. I currently work face to face with families at risk of losing their children. I work to enhance parenting skills and home environment in order to lower the risk of removal. I have been trained in Safe Sleep, Domestic Violence, and Family Preservation through DHHS. and I have a strong communication skills. With my current job I have consented to being a mandated reporter of child abuse and neglect in and out of work. I would describe myself as a kind, caring, nurturing, creative, passionate and patient person. I have a passion for helping and I love working with children.
