About Monica

Over the course of several years, I served as the primary caregiver for my mother, who was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF), a progressive and terminal lung disease. This experience shaped my approach to care--rooted in empathy, organization, and adaptability--and gave me hands-on, day-to-day experience with complex health needs. In this role, I managed her care plan, coordinated with pulmonologists and other specialists, administered medications, and oversaw the use of oxygen therapy. I became skilled in monitoring vital signs, managing home medical equipment, and recognizing early signs of exacerbations. I also provided support with mobility, personal care, nutrition, and emotional well-being.
