I gained most of my 10+ years of childcare experience working exclusively as a Nanny, Babysitter, Tutor, Reading Specialist, Museum Educator, SPED Teacher, RBT, and STEM Activity Specialist. These opportunities bestowed much of the knowledge I have today. I have a B. S. and a Certificate in Crisis Prevention and Intervention. Finally, I completed two teaching fellowships, including one with Teachers College at Columbia University and an Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Education/Teaching Students with Disabilities (Dual Certification) As a childcare professional, I love working with 2E children and children with other special needs (ASD) and/or learning disabilities. I have extensive experience with infants and stellar references. I am committed to seeking opportunities to invest in my professional and educational development. On a scale of 1 to 10, Monae was an 11. I can’t praise her enough for how professional she was. She got here early, asked me to review the bottle/bedtime routine (and listened intently) before I offered, read over my overly long and unsolicited list of reminders before I left, politely refused an offer to turn the TV on, texted me an update without me having to ask for one (just to let me know Grace was still sleeping soundly), and left Grace's toys/blankets/burp rags neatly organized (more so than I had them). And most important of all, our daughter loved her. G. could not stop smiling at her!
