I have been a cna for 4 years, currently employed w/a rehabilitation center but leaning more towards home care again. Three of the 4 years I was doing in home care for my father in law in his late stages of ALS until his passing. It truly was a blessing for myself and the rest of the family as he lived with us, allowing me to give the best care that he needed which included cooking, cleaning, bathing, grooming, toileting, wound care from edema, caring for edema (wrapping legs, also compression socks), use of feeding tube/flushing feeding tube, administering insulin w/pen, providing emotional support when needed, experience with hoyer lifting and sara stedy transfers.
