About Miranda

I'm 22 years old and attended The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. I graduated in May 2021 with a degree in Biomedical Sciences and a minor in Medical Spanish. I hope to pursue a career in medicine as a physician. I'm currently taking a gap year while I prepare to apply to medical school this upcoming May. I regularly volunteer, with a wide range of age groups. I have experience volunteering at nursing homes, hospitals, churches, and schools. In my last two years of high school, I was a member of an organization that allowed me to gain experience working alongside children with special needs and visited low-income elementary schools with the goal to assist children with their homework and other needs. Overall, my schedule is pretty flexible. I enjoy working with kids and getting to know their families. Through babysitting, I have grown as an individual and have developed skills that will be applied throughout my future, especially toward my educational and professional career.
