When we first interviewed Minka we thought she was going to be Mom's forever caregiver. She worked for us for a few weeks and after a week or 2 we saw her hours reported were different than her actual hours worked. I addressed with her casually. Then the next week they were padded again just not as much. We let it slide. The next week same thing happened. 

Then we hear she was criticizing Mom's multi-year day caregiver which definitely keeps Mom on task with everything...appts, etc. We need a cohesive team...one that has only Mom's best interests at heart. 

The last straw was about a week ago when again she submitted her hours as a lump sum. After explaining multiple times we needed them submitted weekly and each day dated, she defies our suggestions/rules. 

When a new caregiver comes into a home there has to be  transparency and trust built on both sides. When we questioned the hours she got very defensive/argumentative and threatened to leave. I told her to leave and she did.

Minka worked for my parents in the last 6 months of my dad’s life. She was an amazing care giver and so thoughtful and kind. She went above and beyond to ensure my dad had the best care possible. She took him to doctors appointments, helped make food for him and ensure the house was always tidy. Minka is without a doubt the best person you could hire to care for a loved one. 

Minka was absolutely amazing helping me with my father the last few days of his life. She came in and did some night shifts for me so I could go home and get some sleep and I didn't worry when I was gone with her there.  My dad didn't really like strangers coming into his house, but she was very knowledgeable, kind and gentle with my dad and he ended up really liking her. I so appreciated having her there overnights to help me and take care of him.  I was very nervous bringing someone in but desperately needed the help and she was worth every penny and I feel so fortunate that I picked the right person to come in and give the best care to my dad in the final nights of his life. Thank you Minka for everything :-)

Minka is an exceptional night caregiver! Her love and care were evident from the moment she stepped in. Our parents were truly grateful for her dedication. Despite covering for another, she poured her heart into her duties. Highly recommend her!

Minka exceeded all expectations with her compassionate, engaging and respectful care and deep expertise in caring for clients with dementia. Our Mom, her client called Minka an “angel”.  Minka cared for our Mom (in her 80’s) who came from another state to attend her granddaughter’s wedding.  Minka ensured Mom, often confused by new locations, was comfortable and cared for and dressed beautifully for the wedding.  Minka proactively made sure Mom got a good night’s rest - so much so that Mom stayed up to ring in the New Year!  Mom and Minka shared stories, coincidental personal connections, and lots of laughs over the wedding weekend. Our entire family adored Minka and her deep and gentle heart.  We found a “gem” in Minka - we will always be grateful for her extraordinary selfless caring over a holiday weekend that gave us all the Peace of Mind to include Mom in the celebrations and to be able to celebrate fully ourselves.  If Mom lived in Pittsburgh, we would hire Minka to be a regular care “assistant” for Mom.  

Minka was thorough, dedicated and cared very much about my father’s overall well being. She also cared about his whole family and gave her best every day. 

Minka is ebullient, kind and talented as a caregiver. Minka is very dedicated to providing not only good care, but making the day brighter. She fit right in with the others who care for my mom. We loved having Minka as part of our team.

I was fortunate enough to have Minka help care for my 94-year-old father in his home during his last 5 weeks of life.  He was a big man and medically complicated with COPD, congestive heart failure, and wounds that go along with his late-stage conditions.  Minka was highly dependable, dedicated, caring, knowledgeable, and experienced with caring for my father.  Additionally, she was great with his 80-year-old companion who was shy and nervous about being able to have him in the home with people she did not know.  Minka quickly put her at ease with her confidence, skills, and loving care to both.  We brought my father home from a lovely nursing facility where he had been (between hospital trips) for 9 weeks.  It was the best decision ever to have Minka and a small team of similar caregivers for round-the-clock care.  The individual care in the home with Minka and others far surpassed the care in the nursing facility and allowed him to have his final weeks at home with his companion.

Minka was FABULOUS with my mom. We would hire her again in a heartbeat. Kind patient thoughtful reliable capable and very gentle.

Minka is a gem. She cared for my mom 9 p.m. - 9 a.m. 7 days a week for 10 months, from the beginning of my mom's illness until her passing. She treated my mom (and me) like she would family. I don't know what I would have done without her. She was 100% reliable. The one time she took vacation, she found her own replacement. She made my mom's last year as good as it could be.

Minka is a deeply caring person. She understands how challenging it is to care for loved ones who are ill and shows great compassion. She will go the extra mile to help you, and take care of your senior family member!

Minka is a very compassionate and experienced caregiver.  I highly recommend her and would hire her back if needed.
