About Mikayla

I'd describe my personality as silly, polite, and kindhearted. I like working with kids because it allows me to get to be a kid myself. Watching them make connections; asking questions; sparking curiosity; that brings me joy. I'm looking for a job that allows me to save up for my future, while also allowing me the flexibility to work. I started working with kids when I was 16. I have been a summer camp counselor at a local surf camp for the last 12 years. While in college at Florida State, I earned my Masters degree in Elementary Education. I have been an elementary school teacher for the last five years, teaching Kindergarten my first year and 4th grade for the last four. In my spare time, I like to go to the beach, do yoga, and enjoy time with my friends, family, and all of our animals. I love being outside! One thing you should know about me is I love working with kids and getting to be silly. I have lots of experience working with children of all ages.
