About Mikala

Generous Creative Honest Children are spirited and resilient beings. To see children grow is a privilege--to help them envision a future for themselves and cultivate the determination to achieve it. I have the ability to positively engage in healthy routines with children and to teach them how to respond to and cope with challenges in life. I want to work with a family that reciprocates my values. Since 2023, I have been working in Special Education under the title of Special Instructional Assistant. In this time, I have become a better teacher and a stronger advocate. I majored in English at UVA--reading and writing are my favorite pastimes. I have been working on a novel that I hope to publish one day. I have pets at home--I am very passionate about animals. I am an academic who profoundly enjoys learning and helping others to learn.
