About Mikaela

Hi! I'm Mikaela - an aspiring child life specialist with a passion for supporting children's growth, curiosity, and emotional well-being. I'm currently earning my B. A. in Child Development and Family Studies at CSULB, and volunteer in the Child Life department at Miller's Hospital. I have six years of professional childcare experience, teaching Mommy and me classes, and being an infant/toddler teacher at a Montessori school, and a learning center with a play based curriculum. I love helping little ones explore the world in ways that feel safe, fun, and developmentally appropriate. Families and coworkers often describe me as patient, artsy-fartsy, and reliable. My background in early childhood education, behavioral social science and customer service helps me communicate well with both children and parents while creating a positive, supportive environment. I love what I do and look forward to making a meaningful, caring impact on the families I work with!
