About Mickaela

My approach has always been calm, patient, and relationship-focused. I build trust with youth by listening to them, meeting them where they're at, and helping them develop confidence in their strengths. I've facilitated small-group activities, provided one-on-one mentorship, supported crisis-prevention strategies, and collaborated closely with families, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure each child's needs were understood and addressed. In addition to providing emotional support, I've helped youth develop problem-solving skills, improve communication, and practice positive coping strategies. I make sure every child feels seen, valued, and capable of success--while maintaining professional boundaries and consistent expectations. Overall, my experience has strengthened my ability to stay composed under pressure, communicate clearly, remain compassionate, and bring out the best in the kids I work with.
