Hi! I am an educator (FL special education certified/autism endorsed), with 20+ years, across all ages and disabilities. I have developed/ provided lessons for young adults learning to live independently (e. g. conflict resolution, boundaries). I provided support for a family for 6+ years, embedding language into his favorite activities, programming his talker, and helping school staff learn to use it. We are always learning; learning should be fun. When we're engaged, behavior is less likely to be an issue. Behavioral challenges can be a sign that we have something to ask or say that isn't being understood, so communication is a priority. It also may mean that our sensory systems aren't regulated, so I focus on activities that will help get in that space.
