About Michelle

I'm a registered nanny and a former preschool teacher for 28+ years and a nanny for over 21 years. I believe children need love, understanding, empathy, and a firm, but gentle, hand in order to grow into well rounded young adults. I love working with and guiding young children because of their open minds, honesty and the love they give unconditionally. I use infant/toddler sign language. I teach letter, shape, color recognition, plan activities, go on outings and encourage self-help skills. Through reading and games (yes, even for infants) I encourage speech, learning and appreciation for life. I love being a nanny and look forward to meeting my next "family." I have had 5 families since I started being a nanny, I tend to stay until the children start school. And as long as it's full time I can stay longer. I take care of all the responsibilities that pertain to the children.

Michelle has worked for us for over a year, and our daughter, E, absolutely adores her. When Michelle started, E was behind on her speech, so Michelle brought her sign language videos (which E loved), and actively reinforced the lessons. E took to signing quickly, and it really helped both alleviate the frustration she was having and bridge the gap to more verbalization. Michelle is always bringing new and fun art projects for E to complete, and she regularly takes E to the park, for singing and dancing events at the library, for swim lessons, and for regular trips to grandma's house to go biking or swimming. Michelle has a very giving nature, and has always done her best to be there when we've needed her. Michelle is highly experienced, confident enough to give her opinions on various things affecting E, and respectful enough to follow our directions, even when she disagrees with them. We highly recommend Michelle for any child care-giving role.
