Hello, I'm a special needs worker. I've been community habilitation worker, SEMP job coach, and nanny with over 15 years experience in special needs. I was named one of the top 20 DSPs working in Suffolk County by a reputable organization in self direction and have won awards for my focus in inclusion in my work. People who know me appreciate that I am positive, funny, friendly. They appreciate my coaching skills most of all and I try my best to give people hope in what they can do in their lives . I've worked with children and adults. The eldest folks I've worked with are in their 30s. I've worked and trained in classrooms, job sites, the community, and homes. I am comfortable learning new skills. I do not know ASL but I am experienced with AAC/PECS and working with non verbal communicators. I am comfortable and experienced with working with seizure disorders. I'm very familiar with Autism, developmental disorders and cognitive disabilities in the field and within my family life.
