I have taken care of both of my grandparents for years. When they were mobile, I would take them everywhere including driving around seeing Xmas lights, taking them to doctor's appointments, playing cards, watching old movies, and helping with food prep. Straightening up the house. I would always look for activities such as movies I knew they would be interested in, musical plays, puzzles, color by number, etc. I have such patience with the elderly. Towards the end of life, I would read to them, medication management, play their music and just be there for them. They loved reminiscing and it made me so happy to be able to spend quality time with them.
