For ever a decade I've dedicated myself to nurturing children and supporting families. I have the desire to positively impact young lives and offer parents dependable care. I'm patient and friendly ensuring a comfortable environment for children of all ages, from infants to pre-teens. I am happy to assist with errands, crafts, carpooling, and swimming supervision. I have First Aid Training and CPR Training, and experience caring for children with special needs.

We arranged a phone interview and after a positive impression, we set up an in-person interview the following day. Michaela was professional and relaxed, and gave the impression of being honest and forthright. 

Michaela provided professional and compassionate care to my two children - both on the Autism spectrum.  Michaela demonstrated critical thinking when it came time to implement the care plans for my children, working closely with all of their providers and making sure information was communicated to them and back to me.  Michaela kept the children engaged with structured schedule, activities and even outings. She comes from an approach of priming and positive reinforcements to avoid or de-escalate undesired behaviors while keeping everyone safe. Her calm demeanor, quick thinking and creative approach are qualities that are hard to come by.  Michaela would be an asset to any family who will need to have that peace of mind that all is being handled while they are away.

Michaela has been a wonderful addition to our household, and our son who is on the Autism spectrum just adores her.  The most valuable quality about her is that she does not perform like a robot, she takes in information and effectively readjusts and adapts as situations change.  
She was actively involved in my son's speech and behavioral treatment sessions and would sit in on sessions (even though she had the option to sit out and just wait for it to end.)  She also employed their suggested approaches and kept me abreast of things of note during therapy sessions without stepping out of bounds.  For example, if she felt that something was off with my son during sessions such as if my son was having a particularly challenging session while yawning or pausing for mini breaks, she would express concern that he perhaps needs a nap and would wait for my decision on  whether to end session early and give him a nap or let him ride it through.  She also exuded a calm and comforting demeanor even  at the peak of my son's anxieties which helped him calm down.  I truly appreciate that she was genuinely interested in his well being.  It wasn't just a job where she'd perform the absolute minimum requirements, a lot of times she went above and beyond what was expected,  for instance when his little soccer ball got stuck in a tree, she got him another after a couple of days.  She has taken him to dental appointments, and last minute doctor's appointments when we haven't been able due to work and scheduling conflicts.  I just can't say enough good things about Michaela, we really lucked out with her!  Our son is starting an inclusion class and will be in full time preschool to foster his social development, so Michaela's care sadly had to end.   That said, we very highly recommend her!
