About Michael

Hi! My name is Michael and I am an artist and educator passionate about empowering young people to feel creative, curious, and courageous to chase their unique passions. I have worked in childcare as a babysitter for ages 3-8, a children's art camp assistant for grades K-2, a Youth Enrichment Instructor where I led STEAM and outdoor after school activities, and I am currently working in Chicago Public Schools as a Special Education Classroom Assistant grades PreK-8 where I offer 1:1 support for high needs students. I am adaptable, patient, and aim to give my all when working with children. Through consistency, firmness, high-expectations, respect, and empathy I encourage young people to be their best selves. I am looking for a summertime position, ages 3+, and ~21-35 hours a week.
