I have been a child care provider for many years, most recently as a Special Needs Intervention Specialist /Nanny/Household Manager. I have a degree in Elementary Education with emphasis in Early Childhood Development, Middle School, Language Arts and Reading. I have devoted my life's work to children, because I strongly believe that in today 's busy world children deserve an advocate who knows them on a deeply individual basis and I want to be that. Childhood goes by in the blink of an eye, but the first five years of life are the most critical developmentally. (These years are when special needs intervention is most crucial) Determining the kind of person they will become. (emotionally, physically, intellectually) Nothing has been more fulfilling to me than building an intimate bond with a child, watching them to grow and develop. Working with children is what I was meant to do, it is a talent I was born with, and a talent I have continually worked to develop further. I will act as your "ultimate case manager"- being your child's advocate and providing a cohesive support between his/her many specialists. I work directly with the specialist, and ensure that the intervention services required by that therapist are provided at home, in conjunction with his/her other therapy. I have worked for a diverse client base ranging in age, race, religion, culture, and need. I am comfortable in many different types of homes. My job duties and responsibilities have varied greatly from family to family. I have most enjoyed positions that leave me a degree autonomy, and challenge me. I always provide care above and beyond that of a typical childcare provider, ensuring the children have what he/she needs developmentally, thinking one step ahead. I take a the care of a child with the utmost importance, and view this as a career choice, not a job. In past positions I have provided the following Educational Support/ Special Needs Services: Conducted in-depth research and analyzed students' special needs in order to gain a full scope understanding of its effects on behavior, development, and learning. Developed a custom, needs based curriculum. Designed needed materials. Set and achieved short and long-term goals and evaluated instructional effectiveness. Conducting frequent needs assessments. Developed and implemented solutions. Coordinated care and services with specialist in multiple disciplines, ensuring implementation of therapeutic methods.
