Having a background in Recreational Therapy, I've spent several years working in different settings with people with varying abilities, including (but not limited to) Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Down Syndrome, ADHD, and mental health disorders, etc as a counselor, teacher, and adaptive instructor. Having grown up with a sister with Down Syndrome, I feel very comfortable and love working with people of different abilities, helping provide any extra support she/he might need to improve her/his quality of life and daily functioning. I'm passionate about advocating for accessibility to folks who need extra support, so that they may participate in any activity that a typical-functioning person may participate in. I've taught various subjects, like math, english, social studies, climbing, swimming, horse-back riding, and skiing, and love adapting my plan to meet a specific students' needs. I'm CPR cert. and am eager to care-give for families/individuals who need additional support.
