I highly recommend Merle for any family looking for overnight assistance with their newborn or even older infant.  Merle helped our family for 5+ months and we could not be happier with the assistance and expertise that she provided.  She has a wealth of knowledge with infants and was often able to help me, as the parent, problem-solve and improve my babies sleep.  She is extremely comfortable and intuitive with infants; she always knew when to bring my baby to me for feeding (never allowing my baby to become distraught) while simultaneously knowing how to calm and soothe my baby as needed throughout the night.  She has a gentle approach that brought me great comfort as I tried to catch up on rest through otherwise sleepless nights.   Merle is a great communicator, very professional, consistent, and reliable.  Furthermore, she is warm and caring.  She brought great comfort to our family in the newborn days and beyond - there is nothing more important to a mother than being able to trust your baby with another individual, and Merle was able to seamlessly provide that secure care and comfort. Ms. Merle was an amazing newborn care specialist. She was knowledgeable, and professional. She trained us on what needed to be done, and helped to get our baby on a schedule. She was very much worth the investment.

Merle is a very knowledgeable infant nanny. She is warm, kind and considerate. She took care of our newborn for 3 months. She helped with swaddle transition, breast milk to formula transition and getting our daughter to stretch her feeds and sleep more consistently. She was always available and very flexible with her schedule which we needed as I transitioned back to work. She was always early for work, washed her hands immediately and got straight to business which was very helpful. 

Merle is very professional and did an excellent job as a night nurse.  She is a wealth of knowledge and provided us some excellent advice in caring for our newborn son. I would highly recommend Merle as a night nurse. 

We loved having Merle with us for little S! She got her on a steady routine which included 2 naps and 10-11 hours of sleep at night (in her crib!). She was with her starting at 8 months through 10 months and worked M-F 9-5 and sometimes more. We had our first vacation without baby thanks to Miss Merle! We were able to see immediate progress in her motor skills, communication and expression. We now have a focused goal for milestones with sign language, speaking, walking and the transition to solid foods. We would hire her again, but you will see Merle's gift is with 0-11 months and she's highly sought after. Fortunately, I will be staying home full time and ultimately working towards daycare. It's been great having her with us for the past 10 weeks and having peace of mind that our child is in good hands. Please consider her for your childcare needs!

I highly recommend Meryl to any parent in need of assistance. We hired her when our baby was 3 months old, aiming to establish a schedule, sleep train him, and address his slightly underweight issue due to reflux. Meryl successfully achieved all three goals for us. She guided us in creating a schedule, taught us the proper swaddling technique, and suggested suitable bottles and formula to alleviate his reflux.

Meryl is not only friendly, knowledgeable, and professional, but she also consistently shared valuable insights and tips for our baby's care. Now, our baby is 6 months old, sleeping through the night in his crib by 6:30 pm, and has reached a healthy weight. As our needs have evolved, we now rely on Meryl for babysitting services. I highly recommend Meryl for her exceptional skills and support.

We hired Merle as our baby nurse/newborn care specialist when our baby boy was just one week old. Our six-week contract turned into her staying over four months and even now, she still helps us one night a week nearly a year later. As new parents, it was a huge relief to have her with us 24/7 since she has over 20 years of experience caring for newborns. Within hours of her arrival, she calmed our nerves and we felt at ease. She jumped right in, helping us get organized and educating us on all things newborn. Most importantly, she began sleep training our baby and helping him get on a  very good schedule. He immediately gravitated towards her as if he could sense her love and expertise.
Merle's incredible knowledge in this field and her amazing patience are traits that are unmatched. She is a wonderful teacher and although we had zero experience with babies, she has helped us to feel a hundred percent comfortable caring for him on our own. Any family who hires her is extremely lucky!

Since she started with our family 8 weeks ago, Merle has blessed our family with peace of mind and sleep, both of which are invaluable in the early days with a new baby. Merle started taking care of our newborn when he was just two weeks old. From day one, she jumped in with confidence and authority that only years of experience bring. She saw us through those early weeks when the baby is up every few hours, and has laid a great sleep foundation for our son so that he now only wakes once per night. 

We also have a three-year-old son who was not a great sleeper when he was a baby. We were exhausted for what felt like months. Now, my husband and I often remark how much easier our second son is. Maybe it's the experience of having gone through the newborn phase before. Maybe it's that he's an easier baby. But really, I think it's because we are more well rested so that we can handle the ups and downs of this stage in life so much better. 

I can't begin to express how valuable Merle has been

Merle was super knowledgeable and experienced. She helped a lot with understanding what was going on with our newborn and how to help her eat, sleep and generally be happy and calm. She taught us some good soothing tricks and gave us product recommendations. She has fantastic references. Note: her rate is $35/hr and she expects 10 hours/night minimum. Her care profile
says $25/hr which is false and misleading. 


However, she cancelled on us at the last minute - she had committed to coming during the day but she cancelled the night before and we had to scramble to figure it out. She extended her contract with a previous employer in the few days after her interview with us - we told her we would let her know before the end of the week but she extended with her previous employer before we could confirm. I found this to be highly unprofessional. For someone who demands such a high rate I expect much more reliability and professionalism.

Merle looked after our 3rd child October 2020 and was a blessing to our family! She is a specialist in newborn care and is very warm and loving. She is professional and on time and someone you can trust to hand your newborn off to get get some shut eye in those early weeks to focus on recovery for the mom and the rest of the family. I highly recommend her for a night nurse/newborn care specialist.

Merle has been an absolute blessing for our family. My son was born 6 weeks early and she has been so helpful in teaching us about preemies. We hired Merle because of her expertise in infant care and sleep training. At the time, our son was 5 months old and would wake up to eat several times a night. My husband and I were desperate for some sleep as both of us work. Upon her arrival, it was obvious that Merle was the perfect person for the job. She was calm, confident, easy going, and prepared to achieve her goal. We discussed her methods for helping him learn to sleep and came up with a plan that I was comfortable with. Neither of us were fans of the    cry it out technique.    Over a period of time, she gradually weaned out all night feedings and taught him to self soothe. By the end of her stay with us, our son was extremely easy to put to bed and would sleep for just about 12 hours. She spent a little over 2 months with us, and both my husband and I agree that it was one of the best investments we have ever made.

Merle quickly became another member of our family. She was always on time, if not early the majority of the time. She is totally trustworthy and easy to talk to, yet knows exactly when to give us privacy. She moved seamlessly through our house, hardly noticeable that there was an extra person during the night. She is conscientious, pays careful attention to details and is quite the perfectionist. Merle takes pride in her job, is extremely hard working, and is a natural giver. These qualities are often difficult to find now a days. Not only is she fabulous with infants, she was also quite helpful at times with our 10 year old son. It is obvious that children are naturally drawn to Merle with her calm and nurturing demeanor. 

Both my husband and I highly recommend Merle without any reservations. As a physician who specializes in the critical care of babies, I have always been impressed with Merle's skill set as both a baby care specialist and nanny. She is truly a wonderful person and caregiver. Our only regret is that we didn't find her sooner.

Found out at the interview she's a night nurse vs. a nanny and didn't meet any of my criteria. She wanted $25 not $10 like my posting stated. She said doesn't do paperwork like a nappy application (she partially completed), documentation of training/certifications, a contract & etc. of which were all required for my position and she knew prior to arrival for the interview. She told me she just goes with a feeling she gets from the employer and a verbal agreement/handshake. She didn't follow instructions well at all. 

It is with great pleasure that I would recommend Merle P. as a baby nurse. Merle P. worked as a baby nurse for our second son from September 2011   December 2011.  Merle was originally scheduled to work with my family for 8 weeks and we extended her stay an additional 4 weeks. If we could have we would have kept her in our home forever! 

Merle is the second baby nurse our family has used. We used a baby nurse when our first son, now 4 years old, was born. Our experience with Merle far surpassed our experiences with our previous baby nurse. This is not to say that our previous baby nurse was not good. This is simply to say that Merle was phenomenal. 

Merle came into our home the same day that we brought our son home from the hospital. One of the most prominent memories I have of Merle is the ease at which she came into our home. Coming home from the hospital is obviously an emotional time full of joy, excitement, as well as nervousness about how the new addition will impact the current dynamics of the family. Merle came into our home that evening with such an air of confidence and ease that it immediately relaxed our entire family. We felt as if she was not only here to care for our newborn son but also our family as a whole! 

Merle worked for us on a 24/7 schedule. She was with our son constantly and developed an amazing bond and attachment with him. She is naturally gifted with newborns.  Her extensive work history with newborns coupled with her natural talent makes her ability to care for and  read  newborn cues truly superb. I never for one second questioned her ability to care for every need my son might have.  She was constantly one step ahead of whatever it was he needed as far as a feeding, changing, gas relief, sleep or even a problem with a clogged tear duct.  Merle was able to help get our son on a more predictable schedule and was even able work this schedule around our family routine. 

Our son was diagnosed with acid reflux and prior to his being put on medication could be quite challenging in terms of sleep (for weeks only sleeping for 1 hour clips all through the night and day). Merle remained steadfast in her ability to manage his care despite herself getting such limited and broken sleep. She also remained loving and kind at all times, never becoming frustrated by his constant crying and fussiness. That level of calmness and lack of frustration is hard enough to maintain for a parent of a fussy newborn, let alone a non-family member of the newborn. Merle took care of our son as if he were her own. Showing him love at all moments. She would talk to him, play with him, and cuddle him. Merle s work is not simply a job for her. Merle loves her work with babies. It seems our baby could pick up on this affection, as he loved Merle in return. He would often strain his head just to see her if he heard her voice. 

In addition to her expertise in caring our newborn, Merle was also gifted in caring for our family. First, she was always nonjudgmental and very easy to be around in the home. Merle knew how to be in the home and interact with our family but also knew when to give us our space or time alone. Secondly, Merle was able to interact extremely well with our older year old son. I was concerned that it would be confusing enough for him to have a new baby in the home, let alone a new baby and a new adult living in the home! Merle connected with our older son to the point that he talks about her as part of our family! She treated him with warmth and gave him the attention he needed during this transitional period. Finally, Merle was always clean and neat and moved seamlessly around our home. 

We recommend Merle without any hesitation and hold her in the highest regard. We would recommend her to our closest family members and friends and of course, would use her again ourselves.

Merle was a lifesaver for our family! She was our night nurse for a few months and worked seven days a week. We had other nurses come in and help before her, but she was excellent with our daughter, so we hired her full time. Our daughter was a terrible sleeper and she helped us teach her how to self soothe, get on a schedule, eventually weaned off of night feedings, etc. She offered tons of great advice as well. We couldn't have done it without her!
