I have previously been a caregiver for a 16-year-old boy with Cerebral Palsy for almost 2 years. He was only able to communicate through sign language which I am fluent in because I have a profoundly deaf brother. I know how to be patient as his response time could take up to a minute and he was also a fall risk. I was employed through the state of Virginia and passed a background check for it too. I have also babysat for a little boy that was autistic. I know the amount of patience, care, and energy it takes to work with special needs kids and adults and I loved every minute of working with them.
