I grew up on a small hobby-type farm with horses, cows, chickens, ducks, dogs, cats, hamsters, turtles, and birds. My parents also owned and operated a boarding and grooming kennel for dogs and cats, and I helped out there. Additionally, as a teenager, I worked after school for the veterinarian across the street from us. I currently have one rescue dog (from Paws in Prison) and two rescued cats.
