About Melody

As a substitute teacher and tutor for the past nine years, I've dedicated myself to providing intentional instruction and enrichment for children. My background includes early child development coursework, and I've completed some graduate-level courses in psychology and education. I love sparking creativity, imaginative play and engaging children after a planned lesson with board games, puzzles, and other educational activities. I always follow the parents' lead when enforcing household rules and prioritize their preferred communication method to keep them informed about their child's day. I'm comfortable tutoring one child at a time, but can pivot to group sessions when students are preparing for similar goals(mastery, tests, or classroom levels), allowing me to increase student competency, confidence, and preparedness. I can provide focused and individualized attention if assessments are provided. I am enthusiastic and love to work with your family!
