About Melody

I'm currently a Resource Teacher for Exceptional Children at Charlotte Lab School. My role involves offering a comprehensive mix of academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support, all while making sure we're following the IDEA and NCDPI guidelines. I focus on teaching in a way that's based on ABA principles, always keeping an eye on treatment quality, using data to guide our choices, and ensuring everyone has the same chance to learn. I work closely with BCBAs, other service providers, and general education teachers to create personalized learning plans, behavior plans, and social-emotional supports for students in both inclusive and specialized environments, all while working with CMS MTSS frameworks.
