I currently work as a full-time aide in a public school in an elementary level special needs classroom. I am looking to expand my experience and skills working with different children during the summer months. I have 3 years of paid experience with children with special needs including Autism diagnoses, speech delays, behavioral disorders, and some medical needs. My current employer supports me in a lot of training related to ABA Therapy, Speech therapies and systems such as PECS, and DTT teaching methods. I am also CPR certified (will renew CPR/First Aide/AED in 06/2015) and hold a current Medication Administration certificate from DC Public Schools. I would aim to support a child with special needs by promoting healthy and sociable life skills and working to maintain and practice academic work. I would also look to support parents in staying organized and fidelis to routine and protocols.
