About Melissa

I am a retired elementary education teacher from the Derby school district. I spent the last 8 years of my 25 year career as a reading intervention specialist. Through this role, I have been trained as an academic language therapist. I have had proven success screening and implementing reading goals for ages pre-K through 13 years of age. My tutoring sessions are tailored to your child's specific reading needs and include researched based instruction for children with traits of dyslexia. I have been trained to teach a multi sensory program called Take Flight. This curriculum is based from Texas Scottish Rite Hospital and my recorded training is on file through ALTA. You will receive periodic assessment of your child's performance and updated targeted goals.
