About Melissa

When I was young, my mother often said I should work in geriatrics, as I was more comfortable with the elderly than I was with kids, my age. I was blessed to have my great grandmother until I was 21 years old. She was my best friend. I enjoyed helping her friends in the neighborhood, mowing their lawns, getting their mail, and just listening when I knew they were lonely. I am an early Headstart teacher, and even though my students are just starting off in life, they are just as precious to me as those who are nearing their end.
