About Melissa

I have been inside the classroom since 2013. I teach social studies and special education at the high school level, however, I spent 7 years tutoring Pre-K through 11th teaching phonics, reading comprehension, basic math skills, problem solving, and math up to 6th grade common core standards. I'd describe my personality as persistent, determined, and sarcastic. I like tutoring because it gives me the opportunity to really see a student learn and the light bulb moment when they understand. I started tutoring in 2018 for Huntington Learning Center, but have been teaching since 2013. One thing you should know about me is I am reliable. My skills include grammar, patience, and repetition.
