About Melissa
Experience: 10 yrs
Hi! I am an ex-school teacher, current nanny/academic tutor who loves children. I am looking to provide child care and have plenty of experience through teaching, other nanny jobs and family. I have the academic experience to reinforce academic growth and attended college on a full athletic scholarship, which helps to get kids outdoors or work on any sports that might interest them. I was a reading coach and encourage kids to become readers. I love arts and crafts and being creative. I have coached sports at the toddler age in an Athletes in Training program- all the way to coaching High School Basketball, Volleyball, Softball and Golf. So there hasn't been one base I haven't touched around child care. I have done diapers, bottles, potty training, cooking and light cleaning. Kids are our future and need a loving environment to be able to blossom into wonderful caring young men and women. I have had, big dogs, cats and horses so I welcome homes with pets!!! :)

Melissa worked for us for the last 1 1/2 years and was a treasure! Our boys, currently 4 and 9, love her. She was very engaged with them and active, taking them swimming, teaching fishing, playing games, etc. Her background as a teacher was very helpful, as she encouraged my younger son in his reading ability and helped ensure that my older son did his homework and encouraged his writing and artistic abilities. She was also there with hugs and support if they needed them and felt like one of the family. Melissa also helped care for our two large dogs and three cats. I found her to be reliable, punctual, thoughtful and considerate. I recommend her without hesitation!
