About Melissa

Unlocking a student's unique potential is the heart of my teaching practice. With five years of experience as a tutor and over 14 years as an educator, I specialize in helping elementary students build Math, English, and Study Skills. I believe in a positive approach and encourage having a growth mindset. When concepts feel challenging, I break them into manageable steps and celebrate every small success. I value clear communication with parents to ensure we remain a collaborative team. My greatest reward is witnessing that "aha!" moment when a student finally masters a difficult skill. Whether we meet at your home, a library, or online, I look forward to creating a supportive environment where your child feels excited to learn and grow. I am also a mom to 2 children, ages 11 and 13, and bring that experience to my teaching. I have a background in general and special education classrooms, as well.
