About Melissa

After 14 years in the insurance industry, I took a leap into an entirely different career path, and decided to follow my heart. The past three years have been the most fulfilling of my professional life. I began caregiving through an agency before transitioning to private care. I had the honor of caring for one of the kindest people I've met for 1. 5 years, remaining with him through the end of his life. Most recently, I spent a year caring for a very sweet man with middle-to-late stage Alzheimer's disease. My specialized training includes advanced Parkinson's care through the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA), dementia education through The Alzheimer's Association, and CDC STEADI fall-risk prevention. I am currently completing an End-of-Life Doula certification program. I also have experience with paraplegic care, autism, hospice and end-of-life care.
