About Melissa

My name is Melissa and I recently worked as Director of Education at a nature center where I taught and managed informal environmental science programs for children and adults. I have a Bachelor's degree and Masters degree in Marine Biology. I love children and have always enjoyed working with them. In the past, I have been employed as a live-in nanny, after school counselor, lifeguard, camp counselor, and environmental educator. I have experience caring for children ranging from infants to teens. Although my certifications have lapsed, I was CPR/First Aid certified for 22 years (exp 2022) and Wilderness First Responder certified for 8 years (exp 2022). I am also certified as an elementary teacher in the state of New York and work as a substitute teacher a few times a month. My husband and I have an amazing 3-year-old daughter! At this time, I am looking for date night/weekend care jobs only, as I have several wonderful little ones that I watch in my home during the weekdays.
