About Melissa

Hi, my name is Melissa! I have experience caring for children from toddlers through elementary school, both as a preschool teacher and as a summer camp counselor. I'm creative and love using art, crafts, and fun activities to keep kids engaged and active while making sure they feel safe and cared for. Families describe me as dependable, patient, and nurturing. I enjoy working with kids because they notice the little things-like an ant on a log, the shapes of clouds, or the joy of building a blanket fort-that remind us to slow down and appreciate everyday moments. I started babysitting for friends and family, then became a Preschool Teacher at The Goddard School in 2024. Most recently, I worked as a Camp Counselor/Fine Arts Instructor at a sleepaway camp in Maryland, living in-cabin with campers and leading daily activities. Outside of childcare, I enjoy reading, making art, rollerskating, photography-and watching Bluey!
